FCC AUDIT ALERT
The FCC is conducting an audit of the construction and operational
status of the Private Land Mobile Radio stations licensed on frequencies bellow 800 MHz
that are subject to frequency coordination and rule-based construction and operational
requirements. The scope of the audit, at this time, only affects stations in the PW, YW,
IG and YG services.
As part of the audit, the FCC is sending letters which began on August
15, 2001, and will continue mailing these letters over a period of six months. The FCC is
providing an attachment to the letters listing the licensee's call sign. You may receive
more than one of these letters due to variation in licensee name, address, etc. The
licensee must respond to each letter by the Commission in order to account for all of its
call signs that are part of the audit. Licensees must provide true and complete responses,
and may be subject to sanctions for misrepresentations or willful material omissions.
Licensees who fail to respond to the Commission's letter risk having
their authorizations cancelled. Additionally, licensees who do not receive a letter from
the Commission because they have not maintained a current address with the Commission also
risk losing their authorization.
Licensees must respond to the Bureau's letter(s) within sixty (60) days
of the date of the letter. The response must be mailed to: Federal Communications
Commission, 2001 PLMR Spectrum Audit Responses, 1270 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA
17325-7245.
