That other sale’s company that sold me my radios said, “they won’t work with other brands”.  It’s BS!

**All FM business band radios in the same frequency range will talk to each other provided they’re programmed correctly.

OEM batteries work better on radios than those manufactured by others.  It’s BS!

** Those other manufacturers made the batteries for the OEMs.

These radios have an operating range of up to 5 miles.  It’s BS!

** Range does not have a Black & White answer.  There are too many variables to be addressed.

BS means Bad Salesmanship!   It means not working in a customer’s best interest.  Its what makes your job as a radio consumer more difficult.

Conflicting claims, brand M is the best, brand K is the only radio for you, brand E is the highest quality.  The truth is there are only a couple of substandard brands on the market in the U.S. today (which are legal department feels that it is in our best interest not to mention), and these aren’t even major brands.  With the exception of those brands, every manufacturer makes some great radios as well as has some lower quality as well.

What it takes to make your job easier as a radio consumer is no BS.  Just provide you with all the information needed to make a cost-effective decision on what brand and model is best for your specific needs.  How often do you find a radio shop that only sells one brand of radio?  If one brand is better than all the rest, then why do they sell the others?

Some manufacturers feel their equipment should demand a higher price.  Other manufacturers carry lower inventory levels of replacement parts, which will have a negative affect on the serviceability of your equipment.  There are other manufacturers that warn you about using accessories that are not OEM but purchase the same equipment, slap their label on it and sell it at exorbitant prices.

Does anyone reading this really believe that Motorola, Kenwood, Ericsson, or any radio manufacturer produce their own batteries?  They don’t.

Does everyone get a good chuckle when you here claims of being “MADE IN AMERICA”?   That particular manufacturer even stamps its equipment with a code to indicate the real country of origin.  You as a customer deserve a little more respect, and a lot less BS.  You shouldn’t have to wonder what sales claims are just Bad Salesmanship , and what is important information.  It’s your money, find a salesperson you trust, who is knowledgeable, and help him understand your needs.  Radios are a tool, but so was that $600.00 hammer the Military was buying.
